Pencils, erasers, Neocolor crayons, watercolors, gouche and colored pencils, wet fingers and oily, salty potato chips. Then it all gets cleaned up, in Photoshop.
My process always starts with an image from an encounter in nature. Something I see, feel or imagine. From there it develops into a drawing that is the starting point for a story.
My starting point: I received a degree in Secondary Art Education so I could teach art at the high school level in Sun Valley, Idaho. I learned about software when Apple gave me an Apple computer to teach computer graphics in my classroom. I learned about digital typography when Adobe hired me to design type for the Macintosh. I received another degree in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and here I am.
